Blueprint Cabinet Design v1.11 — Blind cabinets, overlay and inset doors.
Share
1.11 is a big one. Blind cabinets, overlay and inset doors for face frame builds, new room doors, full undo and redo, five new languages — and under the hood, a lot of work on memory use and speed. It's all in Blueprint, our cabinet design software for Mac and iPad.
Blind Cabinets
Blueprint now supports blind corner cabinets: the kind that tuck into a corner so part of the carcass sits behind the neighbouring cabinet, leaving a narrower accessible opening at the front. There are three variants: Blind Base, Blind Wall, and Blind Topless.

Each one works like any other cabinet in Blueprint. Place it from the cabinet picker, then set the blind width — how much of the cabinet is hidden — and choose which side the blind part sits on. You can flip a blind cabinet from one side to the other without rebuilding it. Open it in the cabinet editor and everything works as usual: splits, shelves, doors and drawers, with the live 3D preview following along.
The wall variant mounts at a height like any wall cabinet, with no plinth. The topless variant gets the two bracing rails instead of a full top panel, the same as a regular topless cabinet. And because the geometry comes from the same engine as every other cabinet, the full panel set lands in the cut list with correct sizes — nothing to work out by hand.
Overlay and Inset Doors
US Face Frame cabinets now support two door styles: inset, where the door sits inside the face frame opening, and overlay, where the door covers part of the frame. Pick Face Frame in the cabinet's opening style, then switch between Inset and Overlay right below it. For overlay you can set the overlay amount.
Both styles work across every cabinet type, including corner and blind cabinets, so a whole run stays consistent. Overlay is now the default for new US Face Frame cabinets. Existing projects and cabinets stay exactly as they were, so nothing you've already designed changes.
Room Doors, Done Properly
Doors in the room — not cabinet doors, the ones you walk through — got a big upgrade. You can now choose between solid, glass and half-glass styles, as a single or double door. Set the hinge side, and whether the door opens inward or outward. The floor plan draws the door swing, so you can see at a glance what space it needs.

Room doors can also be textured now. Give a door a colour or texture from the render material library, and it shows in the 3D view and in photo mode, so the doors match the rest of the room.
Project Previews on the Home Screen
The home screen now shows a snapshot of each project, so you can tell the kitchen from the wardrobe at a glance instead of reading a list of names.

Undo and Redo
Blueprint now has full undo and redo across the room editor, the floor plan, and the cabinet editor. Move a cabinet the wrong way, delete the wrong wall, split an opening in the wrong place — step back and carry on.
Five New Languages
Blueprint is now available in Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Latin America), French, Portuguese (Brazil), and German. The app follows your device language.
Duplicate Project
You can now duplicate any project from the project list menu. It's the quick way to try a different layout or finish without touching the original. Duplicating a project requires Standard Edition.
Faster and Lighter
This release includes a lot of work you won't see in a screenshot but will feel when you use the app.
Blueprint now caches textures and 3D geometry more intelligently, prefetches what a room is about to need, and reduces texture sizes selectively before they go into the cache. We also tracked down and fixed memory leaks, and ran memory stress tests across macOS, iPad and iPhone. The result is lower memory use and a snappier app, especially in larger rooms with many cabinets and library models.
Fixes and Polish
1.11 also fixes a long list of smaller things. A few worth calling out:
- Fractions and decimals are handled correctly in inch fields, and numeric fields accept both decimal point and decimal comma.
- Wall-mounted cabinets, including blind wall cabinets, now show and keep the correct height from the floor.
- Corner cabinets: leg B no longer follows leg A when you change the dimensions.
- Fixed the snap distance setting.
- Fixed a sheet optimizer trim issue.
- Fixed a bug with nested splits combined with overlay doors.
Plinth Mounting on the Cut List
The panel schematic in the cut list PDF now marks where the bottom board mounts relative to the plinth, a detail we found missing while building a real cabinet run from a Blueprint cut list.
Available now
1.11 is available today on macOS, iPad and iPhone. If you are already using Blueprint, this is a free update.
